Fire Department History

     In 1973, the town of Baileyton was incorporated and one of the first acts by the newly formed  council was to purchase a new fire truck.  In 1974, the Baileyton Fire Department was ready for action with 12 members operating out of the basement of the town hall.  Troyce Hadley served as the first fire chief and the initial ISO rating was 9/9.

     In 1985 the department was officially incorporated as "Baileyton Fire Department ,Inc.".  The first stand alone fire station was constructed on town park property in 1986.  The second station located at Fletcher's Crossroads was constructed in 198?.

     The Baileyton Fire Department, which currently has a coverage area of 25 square miles, operates 3 engine companies, one tanker /service truck and 2 brush trucks.   One engine and one brush truck is equipped for EMS calls.  The Baileyton Volunteer Fire Department has a current ISO rating of 6/9.  There are currently 15 volunteer fire fighters on the roster.
